【1】新年メッセージで抱負を語る－鳥居会長
    SUAA President Torii's Aspirations Expressed in His New Year Message

鳥居正男会長がソフィア会Webサイトに新年メッセージを寄せています。
「不確実性が高まった不安な一年でした」と2022年を振り返ったあと、「上智大学ではキャンパスでの活動が戻って来ました。2年順延になってしまっていた金・ルビー・銀・銅祝式典も2月に開催され、多くの卒業生は母校のありがたさを満喫することができました」とコロナ禍が開けつつあるとして、ソフィア会でも久々に対面またはハイブリッドでASFやASC、秋季全国代議員会、地域ソフィア会全国大会などが行われたことを紹介。
続く今年については「感染を防ぎながら日常生活を保つという難しいかじ取りが必要な一年になります」としながらも「たとえ感染が下火になったとしても、元通りのソフィア会に戻ればいいとは考えていません」と述べています。つまり「コロナ禍の中でソフィア会はさまざまな工夫をしてきました。それを生かすことにより、新たなステージに立つことができると考えています。（Zoomなどを使うことで）工夫次第で海外も含めた遠隔地の会員も時空を超えて容易に繋がることが可能となりました」と、ソフィア会活動は新たな局面を迎えていることを強調しています。

Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) President Masao Torii has posted his New Year message on the SUAA website.
After reviewing 2022 as "an anxious year of increasing uncertainty," he described the process of moving through the COVID-19 outbreak as "activities on the Sophia University campus have returned. After having been postponed for two years the Gold, Ruby, Silver and Bronze Anniversary Ceremonies were held in February, and many alumni were able to enjoy their alma mater to their hearts delight," since SUAA, too, at long last was able to hold face to face as well as hybrid events including ASF, ASC, the Autumn Conference of National Representatives of Sophia University Alumni Association and the Regional SUAA National Conference.
As for the upcoming year, he said that while "we will have to spend the year carefully preventing infection even as we maintain our daily lives," he added, "even when the outbreak is brought under control, my expectation is not that SUAA will return to its pre-COVID state. In other words, "in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak SUAA has made use of a range of strategies. I believe that by making the most of these will bring us to a new stage. [Things like Zoom] now allow members in remote areas, including overseas, to easily connect across time and space," he said, emphasizing that SUAA activities have entered a new phase.

【2】ASF2023の実行委員を募集します
    Recruiting ASF 2023 Executive Committee Members

今年のASFは5月28日(日)です。これに向けて、ASF2023実行委員会は一緒に企画・運営する実行委員を募集しています。
実行委員会は「2023年度もハイブリッド開催をめざし、世代を超え、時間や場所の壁を越えて多くのソフィアンが集い、楽しめる一日にしたいと考えています」とし、「実行委員会では、卒業生や在校生の有志が卒年・学部学科を問わずに集まり、様々なアイディアを出し合いながら楽しく活動をしています。リアルとデジタルそれぞれの体験価値を活かした、新しい形のイベントを一緒につくりあげていきませんか」と呼び掛けています。

This year ASF will be held on Sunday, May 28th. In preparation, the ASF 2023 Executive Committee is looking for members to help with planning and management.
Executive Committee stated, "Again in 2023, we are aiming to hold a hybrid event, and hope that the joyous event will bring many Sophians together to across generational, spacial and temporal boundaries," and appealed to us with "regardless of their graduation year or undergraduate department alumni and current student volunteers working together on the Executive Committee share diverse ideas and enjoy our activities. Won't you join us in creating a new type of event that leverages the value of both real and digital experiences?"

【3】ASC2022を開催しました
    ASC 2022 Held

2022年のASCは、3年ぶりの対面参加とオンライン視聴での、ハイブリッド開催となりました。今回は食事とアルコールの提供をせず、密にならないように間隔を空けて椅子を配置、事前登録制の人数制限をしました。その結果、数日前には申込みを締切ることとなり、楽しみにしていたソフィアンの皆様にご迷惑をおかけしましたが、会場には懐かしい顔が集いました。詳細な内容は下記URLをご覧ください。

ASC 2022 was held in a hybrid format: in person for the first time in three years with online viewers. No food or alcohol was served at this event; chairs were placed at intervals to avoid crowding; and a pre-registration system limited the number of people in attendance. As a result, although registration had to be closed a few days prior to the event which disappointed Sophians who had been looking forward to it, there were many familiar faces at the venue.
