【1】第4期の被顕彰者選考委員会が始動
The 4th Prospective Honoree Selection Committee Activities Begin

ソフィア会は、2013年の上智大学創立100周年を迎えるにあたり、ソフィア会活動に顕著な貢献をされた会員に感謝を表すための顕彰制度を立ち上げ、2013年秋に15名、2016年秋に14名、2019年秋に13名の方々を顕彰しました。
これに続き今回、第4期被顕彰者選考委員会が組織化され、2022年秋をめどにソフィアンズ顕彰表彰式を行いたく、顕彰候補者を募集することとなりました。つきましては、皆さまのまわりの顕彰候補者をご推薦下さい。
推薦にあたっては、顕彰にふさわしい候補者の氏名・卒年・学部学科のほか、5名以上の推薦者の氏名、その候補者を推薦する理由を明記した推薦状（A4用紙・形式自由）を2022年1月末までに、ソフィア会事務局にお送りください。

To celebrate the Sophia University Centennial Anniversary in 2013, the Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) the custom of showing appreciation to members making significant contributions to SUAA activities. Fifteen individuals received such recognition in the autumn of 2013, fourteen in the autumn of 2016, and thirteen in the autumn of 2019.
Continuing that tradition, the 4th Prospective Honoree Selection Committee is now seeking prospective honoree candidate nominations for the Sophians Honoree Commendation Ceremony to be prospectively held in the autumn of 2022. We invite you to nominate alumni around you as outstanding service candidates for the award.
To nominate a candidate, please send letters of recommendation (on A4 paper with no prescribed format) stating the name of the candidate worthy of recognition, the year the candidate graduated from Sophia, the Faculty and Department from which the candidate graduated, as well as the names of at least five individuals recommending the nominee, and reasons for nominating the candidate to the SUAA Secretariat by the end of January 2022.

【2】ASFチャリティ・オークションの支援金を上智学院に贈呈
ASF Charity Auction Donation Presented to Sophia School Corporation

5月30日（日）に開催した今年の「オールソフィアンの集い（ASF）」では、初の試みとして「SOPHIA未来募金のためのオンライン・チャリティオークション」を行いました。その結果、細川護煕元首相（1963法法）による揮毫（書）をはじめ、卒業生、関係者からの出品、またソフィア会、上智学院からのリターン品に対し、合計67件のご支援をいただきました。
その内訳は(１)CAMPFIRE支援金498,500円（60件）、(２)ヤフオク落札金135,448円（落札者７名、出品物ご提供者７名）で、支援金総額は643,948円に上りました。このうち、各サイト利用手数料、CAMPFIREリターン品の送料を控除した574,016円の目録を、7月26日、鳥居正男ソフィア会会長よりサリ総務担当理事に贈呈しました。
来年のASFにおいても本チャリティ・オークションを実施する予定です。引き続き、皆様のご支援、ご協力をお願い申し上げます。

The first ever 'Online Charity Auction to benefit the SOPHIA Fund for the Future' was held during this year's All Sophians' Festival (ASF) on Sunday, May 30th. As a result, the number of donations received for to be auctioned, including calligraphy by former Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa (1963, Faculty of Law, Department of Law), items from alumni and related individuals, and items that had been returned to SUAA and Sophia School Corporation, came to a grand total of 67 items.
The donation amount includes 1) 498,500 yen in funding from CAMPFIRE (60 transactions) and 2) 135,448 yen in winning bids from Yahoo!
Auction (7 winning bidders; 7 donors), bringing the total to 643,948 yen. After the fees required for using each site and the shipping costs for the returned CAMPFIRE items were deducted, SUAA President Masao Torii presented a donation of 574,016 yen to Trustee for General Affairs Augustine Sali on Monday, July 26th.
We are planning to hold a Charity Auction again during ASF next year. We ask for your continued support and cooperation.
