【1】ASC2021－着々と準備が進んでいます
ASC 2021: Preparations are steadily moving forward!

今年第14回目を迎える12月10日（金）の「オールソフィアンのクリスマス2021（ASC2021）」まで、もう1か月を切りました。今年も昨年に続きソフィアンズクラブからのオンライン開催となりますが、実行委員会はすでに、第1部「いのり」の動画やメッセージを募集するともに、第2部の「つどい」に向けても、登場する現役学生や卒業生パフォーマーの収録を進めています。
大学北門のツリーやソフィアンズクラブも、クリスマスに向けて飾り付けが進んでいます。ASCは12月10日の19:00、YouTubeなどオンラインでご参加ください。

held on Friday, December 10th. This year again, the event will be held online based from the Sophians Club, and while the Executive Committee already put out a call for videos and written messages for the Inori prayer time in the first part, current student and alumni performers are being recorded for the Tsudoi gathering in the second part.
The tree planted at the Yotsuya Campus North Gate, and the Sophians Club are being decorated for Christmas. ASC will be held on December 10th at 19:00, and we hope you will join us online at YouTube or other connection.


【2】今年の「ソフィアン国家公務員と話そう」には70名以上が参加
Over 70 Participated in "Talk with Sophian Government Officials" This Year

10月25日（月）、シンポジウム「ソフィアン国家公務員と話そう－日本、世界で活躍する先輩たち－」（主催：上智大学国際関係研究所）がソフィア会の後援によりオンラインで開催されました。本企画は、2016年以降毎年、藤崎一郎元駐米全権大使（元上智大学特別招聘教授、国際戦略顧問）および本学出身の各省庁幹部職員を招き、外交官・国家総合職等を目指す学生・卒業生を支援してきたもので、当日は70名以上の学生・卒業生が参加しました。
鳥居正男ソフィア会会長の挨拶で幕を開け、藤崎元大使は基調講演で外交官経験を交え、「国家公務員は、社会への貢献（公共）という点で上智大学の教育理念に沿ったものである」などと語られました。その後、主催者の上智大学国際関係研究所長の挨拶、また東北大学公共政策大学院教授、経済産業省通商政策局経済連携課の卒業生などから、実際の政策立案過程や日本を代表して対外交渉を行う仕事の醍醐味などについて説明がありました。

On Monday, October 25th, the Sophia Institute of International Relations symposium entitled "Talk with Sophian Government Officials: Upper Classmen Active in Japan and Around the Globe" online with support from Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA). More than 70 students and graduates participated in the event, to which former Japanese Ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki (former Sophia University Distinguished Professor and Chairman of International Strategies) and Sophian alumni serving at various government ministries were invited, and which has been held annually since 2016 to primarily support Sophia University students interested in taking the exam to become a diplomat or government official.
SUAA President Masao Torii opened the symposium with an address, and in his keynote speech former Ambassador Fujisaki shared his experience as a diplomat and said, "In terms of making a contribution to society and serving the public, Sophian government officials are in line with the Sophia University educational philosophy." This was followed by an address by the Director of Sophia Institute of International Relations, the sponsor. Alumni working, for example, as a professor at the Tohoku University School of Law, or at the Economic Partnership Division, Trade Policy Bureau, METI, explained actual policy-making processes and described the thrill of representing Japan in foreign negotiations.

【3】イベント開催報告「上智大学OBOGと語ろう！」
Report on the "Let's talk with Sophia University alumni!" Event

ソフィア会は10月 23 日（土）、卒業生によるイベント「上智大学OBOGと語ろう！」をオンラインで開催しました。
当日は、上智大学を卒業し、現在は政府系機関、テレビ局、大手電機メーカーに勤務する3名と、総合商社内定者（既卒）1名がゲストスピーカーとなり、参加した20名の学生と交流を深めました。参加した学生からは、「他のフィールドで活躍するOBOGとも気軽に話してみたい」、「今後もこういう企画を計画して欲しい」という声が寄せられました。

On Saturday, October 23, SUAA held an online event featuring alumni entitled "Let's Talk with Sophia University Alumni!"
Three Sophia University alumni who are currently working for a government agency, a television station, and a major electronics manufacturer, as well as a graduate who has a job offer from a general trading company, served as guest speakers and furthered dialogue with 20 students. Participant comments revealed an eagerness for holding relaxed conversations with alumni working in other fields as well, and an enthusiasm for more such events being planned in the future.
