【1】久々に母校に帰った卒業生
    Alumni Return to Their Alma Mater for the First Time in a While

大学主催により、卒業50年（金祝）、40年（ルビー祝）、25年（銀祝）、15年（銅祝）を祝う式典が2月25日（土曜日）に6号館101教室（金祝と銅祝）および10号館講堂（ルビー祝と銀祝）で開催され、各会場とも卒業生で埋め尽くされました。
式典には、曄道佳明上智大学長、佐久間勤上智学院理事長、そして鳥居正男ソフィア会会長が出席。曄道学長の祝辞に続き、卒業生代表に祝状と花束贈呈が行われました。
その後、佐久間理事長と鳥居会長が祝辞。鳥居会長は「皆さん、お帰りなさい。キャンパスは様変わりしています」と久々に母校に帰った卒業生に大学の変貌ぶりを紹介した後、「ソフィア会の活動の大事な柱は母校への貢献と学生支援です。この間も、コロナ禍で困窮した学生の支援など、大学に寄付をさせていただきました。このような時期だからこそ、ソフィア会として母校へのサポートを積極的に進めて参ります。どうか皆さんのご理解とご支援をお願いいたします」とソフィア会活動への理解を求めました。
続いて、応援団とチアリーダーが校歌や応援歌を披露。式典後は「語らいの場」として会場を9号館地下カフェなどに移し、学生時代の懐かしい話に花を咲かせていました。

On Saturday, February 25th, graduates filled the venues for the commemorative University-sponsored Anniversary Ceremony celebrations: the Gold Anniversary (50 years), the Ruby Anniversary (40 years), the Silver Anniversary (25 years), and the Bronze Anniversary (15 years). The Gold and Bronze Anniversary Ceremony celebrations were held in Room 101 in Building 6, and the Ruby and Silver Anniversary Ceremony celebrations were held in the Auditorium in Building 10.
These Ceremonies were attended by Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi, Sophia School Corporation Chancellor Tsutomu Sakuma, and Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) President Masao Torii. Following a congratulatory address from President Terumichi, graduate representatives were presented with a congratulatory letter and a bouquet of flowers.
Next, Chancellor Sakuma and President Torii gave congratulatory speeches. President Torii said, "Welcome back, everyone. The campus has considerably changed," and outlined the university transformation to graduates who had returned to their alma mater for the first time in a while. "Contributing to our alma mater and supporting students are important SUAA activity pillars. Donations we have recently made to the University have included support for students that the COVID-19 outbreak has left struggling. It is precisely at times like these that SUAA actively promotes support for our alma mater. I ask for your continued understanding and support."
The Cheerleading Squad and cheerleaders then performed the Sophia University School Song and Cheering Song. Following the ceremony, attendees made their way to the Cafeteria in the basement of Building 9 and other designated places for conversations, and enjoyed reminiscing about their student days.

【2】2023年度の祝典も2月開催に
    Academic Year 2023 Anniversary Ceremony Celebrations to be Held in February

コロナ禍により2020年度以降はASFとの同時開催を見送ってきた祝典ですが、来年、つまり2023年度の祝典も同時開催を見送ることになりました。新しい開催日は2024年2月を予定しています。
具体的な開催日は決まり次第、ソフィア会ウェブサイト、メールニュースなどでご案内します。対象年の卒業生には案内状を送付いたしますので、下記URLページから住所・メールアドレス等の登録をお願いします。

なお、来年度の金祝（卒業50周年）は1973年卒業、ルビー祝（卒業40周年）は1983年卒業、銀祝（卒業25周年）は1998年卒業、銅祝（卒業15周年）は2008年卒業の方々が対象となります。

COVID-19 outbreak has prevented these Anniversary Ceremony celebrations from being simultaneously held with ASF since academic year 2020, and any such plans for the next Anniversary Ceremony celebrations, those for the 2023 academic year, have been shelved. The new date is scheduled for February 2024.
As soon as the specific date has been decided, it will be announced on the SUAA website and in the e-mail newsletter. Since invitations will be sent to alumni who graduated in anniversary years, please register your postal address, e-mail address, and other pertinent information at the following link.

Please note that for the upcoming academic year, the Gold Anniversary (50 years) will be for alumni graduating in 1973, the Ruby Anniversary (40 years) will be for alumni graduating in 1983, the Silver Anniversary (25 years) will be for alumni graduating in 1998, and the Bronze Anniversary (15 years) will be for alumni graduating in 2008.


【3】お知らせ―4月からマンスリーソフィア会メールニュースに
    Notice - from April the SUAA Email News will be Sent out Monthly

メールニュースは2023年4月から第4金曜日1回の配信に変わります。内容は・翌月のイベント開催告知が中心となり、日本語・英語を分けて見やすく工夫します。また、イベント開催に合わせて臨時特別号も配信する予定です。

From April 2023, the Email News will be sent out once a month on the 4th Friday. Content will primarily focus on announcements for events in the following month, and formatting Japanese and English separately will make it easier to read. We also plan to send out interim issues that coincide with events.
