　　 Appreciation Gathering for Professor Ichiro Fujisaki

ソフィア会有志は2月１日（木）18時30分から、ホテルニューオータニにおいて
「藤崎一郎先生への感謝の会」を開催しました。
藤崎先生が昨年12月に上智大学特別招聘教授を退任されたことから有志が呼び
かけて行ったもので、当日は上智学院・上智大学、またソフィア会から主だった
方々が出席。
加えて、多くの学生も参加するなど、先生のお人柄を示すように華やかな会に
なりました。
藤崎先生は外務省北米局局長、同審議官、駐米全権大使、日米協会会長などを
務められ、2013年に上智大学特別招聘教授に就任、国際戦略顧問および国際関係
研究所代表としてご活躍されました。

SUAA volunteers hosted an Appreciation Gathering for Professor Ichiro
Fujisaki on Thursday, February 1st at 18:30 at Hotel New Otani.
Seeing that Professor Fujisaki retired from his Distinguished Professor
position at Sophia University in December of last year, the spontaneous
gathering was primarily attended by Sophia School Corporation and Sophia
University officials and staff as well as those representing Sophia
University Alumni Association (SUAA). Since a lot of students were also
in attendance the Professor's character was revealed at the
distinguished occasion.
Professor Fujisaki served as Deputy Director-General as well as
Director-General of the North American Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the
United States of America, and the President of the America-Japan
Society. Sophia University appointed him Distinguished Professor in 2013
where he served as Chairman of International Strategies and represented
the Sophia Institute of International Relations.

【2】「経営者に聴く―どうなるクルマの未来」は3月19日(月)に
　　 Hear From Management. The first session, entitled What Will The
　　 Future of Automobiles Be? Rescheduled on Monday, March 19th

当初開催予定だった1月22日が降雪のため延期となった講演会「どうなるクルマの
未来～空想社会が現実に!」は3月19日(月)の開催が決定しました。改めての参加
申込をお願い致します。
同講演は「経営者に聴く」シリーズ第一弾。本田技研工業元会長で、
現在ソフィア会副会長の池史彦さんが大転換期が来ている自動車業界の現状と
これから、そして次世代自動車について語ります。

The first lecture, entitled What Will The Future of Automobiles Be? -
Fantasy Society Becomes Reality! which was scheduled to be held on
Monday, January 22nd was postponed due to snow. It has been rescheduled
on Monday, March 19th. Please reapply to attend.
This is the first lecture in the Hear From Management series. The
lecturer, Former Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Chairman Fumihiko Ike, who is
presently serving as SUAA Vice President will talk about the current
and future states of the automotive industry, which is facing a major
turning point, as well as next generation cars.

【3】学生課外活動支援の後期追加支援を実施－2/21
　　 Extracurricular Student Activity Supplemental Funds Awarded on
　　 February 21st

ソフィア会は2017年度学生課外活動支援の後期追加支援金授与式を2月21日（水）
18:00から、学内13号館（旧福田家ビル）512会議室で実施しました。
今回選ばれたのは語劇祭実行委員会や体育会常任委員会など5団体で、ソフィア会
は合計50万円を贈呈しました。
ソフィア会はその主要な目的である大学支援の一環として学生課外活動支援金の
贈呈を行っており、今回は昨年7月25日に実施した学生課外活動支援金贈呈に
続く、後期追加支援となるものです。

SUAA awarded supplemental extracurricular student activity funds for the
2017 academic year at 18:00 on Wednesday, February 21st in Conference
Room 512 in Building 13 (former Kioicho Fukudaya Building) on the
Yotsuya Campus. The five groups selected, including the Foreign-Language
Drama Festival Steering Committee and the Athletics Association Standing
Committee, were awarded a total of 500,000 yen.
One of the primary purposes of SUAA is support to the University through
presenting extracurricular student activity funds and these awards
supplement the extracurricular student activities support presented on
July 25th of last year.
