【1】会長新年挨拶－今こそ、ソフィアンの絆を
SUAA President's New Year's Greetings － Now is precisely the time to grow the Sophia Family

恒例の新年挨拶で、鳥居正男会長は「同じ教育精神を学んだ上智大学の卒業生は、『つなげよう、拡げよう、深めよう ソフィアンの絆』というスローガンの元に、どこで出会ってもお互いに理解し合える強い絆があります」とし、今年も このソフィアンのネットワークの輪がさらに広がるよう訴えています。

In the customary New Year's greeting, Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) President Masao Torii stated that "under the 'Join, Widen, Deepen Sophia Family' slogan, Sophia University graduateswho have developed the same educational spirit, share a strong rapport wherever they meet," and said he looked forward to the Sophian network scope being further enlarged this year.

【2】初のオンラインASCに海外からも多くのソフィアンが
Many Sophians from Overseas Attended the Initial Online ASC

昨年の「オールソフィアンのクリスマス(ASC)」はコロナ禍の下でのオンライン開催となりましたが、オンラインという ことで、海外そして国内でも今までなかなか参加できなかったソフィアンも視聴いただけることとなりました。

Since the COVID-19 outbreak necessitated the All Sophians' Christmas (ASC) 2020 to be held online, both Sophians residing overseas and Sophians in Japan who had not been able to previously participate were able to join for the festivities.

【3】学生の課外活動へ支援金を贈呈
Extracurricular Student Activity Funding Recipients

ソフィア会は12月13日（日）10号館講堂において、曄道佳明学長以下大学関係者出席のもと2020年度学生課外活動支援金 贈呈式を行いました。支援金はソフィア会の大きな目的である「母校への貢献」の中核をなすもので、今回は文化系23団 体、体育会41団体の64団体へ合計869万9,000円を贈呈しました。

SUAA held the 2020 Academic Year SUAA Extracurricular Student Activity Funds Presentation Ceremony on Sunday, December 13th, in the Auditorium in Building 10 on the Yotsuya Campus in the presence of Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi and other University representatives. This funding is SUAA's core objective for making contributions to our alma mater, and a total of 8.699 million yen was awarded to the 64 groups selected this year: 23 cultural and 41 athletic groups.

【4】ザビエル杯もオンラインで
The 2020 Xavier Cup Held Online

第2回目となる留学生による日本語スピーチコンテスト「ザビエル杯」も12月5日（土）オンラインでの開催となりまし た。前回より参加大学が増え、6大学(青山学院、上智、東京外国語、獨協、立教、早稲田)の15名が本選に進み、リモート 審査の結果1位を獲得したのはクー・シケンさん（シンガポール、上智大）でした。

The second Xavier Cup a Japanese language speech contest held for international students was also held online on Saturday, December 5th. More universities participated than last year, and the fifteen finalists represented the six universities of Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Dokkyo University, Rikkyo University, Waseda University, and Sophia University. As the result of remote judging Khoo Tzu Shien (Singapore, Sophia University) was announced as having won first place.

【5】コムソフィア賞授賞式・記念講演会は26日です
Cumsophia Prize Award Ceremony and Acceptance Speech Held on the 26th

第29回コムソフィア賞の授賞式と記念講演会を1月26日（火）18:00からオンラインで行います。受賞者は、外国人留学生 への日本語教育に長年貢献した江副隆秀さん（1975文新、新宿日本語学校理事長兼校長）です。

The 29th Cumsophia Prize Award Ceremony and Acceptance Speech will be held online on Tuesday, January 26, at 18:00. The winner selected this year is Takahide Ezoe (1975, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Journalism; Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute Chancellor and Principal) who has for many years contributed to Japanese Language instruction for international exchange students.
