【1】第2回奨学金奨学生証授与式を開催しました
The Second SUAA Scholarship Presentation Ceremony Held

ソフィア会は1月17日（金）、ソフィアンズクラブ会議室において「第2回ソフィア会奨学金奨学生証授与式（長期交換留学の部＝3名、短期留学の部＝5名）」を開催しました。戸川宏一会長が奨学生一人一人対してソフィア会奨学生証と記念品を手渡し、各奨学生からは留学計画や留学報告の発表が行われました。上智大学からも久田満副学長（学生総務担当）など関係者が出席しました。
ソフィア会は2018年度に「ソフィア会奨学金」制度を創設、今回の授与式は11月27日の第1回に続くものです。また、2月1日からは、「ソフィア会奨学金のための募金」（SOPHIA未来募金の使途指定募金）をスタート、会員からの寄付を募りながら継続的な給付を行う方針です。

Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) held the Second SUAA Scholarship Presentation Ceremony for three long-term study abroad students and five short-term study abroad students on Friday, January 17th.
SUAA President Koichi Togawa personally awarded the SUAA scholarships and commemorative mementos and each recipient presented a study abroad plan and study abroad report. Sophia University Vice President for Student & General Affairs Mitsuru Hisata was among attendants representing the University.
SUAA established the SUAA Scholarship Fund in FY2018, and this presentation ceremony follows the first one held last November 27th. In addition, fundraising for the SUAA Scholarship Fund (designated under the SOPHIA Fund for the Future) was launched on February 1st, and in principle the scholarship fund will continue to be financed by contributions provided by SUAA members.

【2】地域ソフィア会が相次いで忘年会、新年会を開催－ソフィアワインも提供
Regional SUAA Branch Year-end and New Year's Parties Held ? Sophia Wine Provided

この年末年始は、各ソフィア会で忘年会、新年会が盛んにおこなわれました。新年会だけでも、国内では石川ソフィア会、福岡ソフィア会、熊本ソフィア会、新潟ソフィア会など、また海外でもデュッセルドルフ・ソフィア会、英国ソフィア会、ミュンヘン・ソフィア会など、相次いでそれぞれ趣向を凝らした新年会を開催しています。
ソフィア会はこうした会を支援するため、ソフィア会特製ワインや各種資料をお送りしています。事務局では、各ソフィア会からの開催案内および開催報告をお待ちしています。

From the end of last year through the beginning of this year, various regional SUAA groups held cheerful year-end and New Year's parties. Distinctive New Year's parties hosted by Ishikawa SUAA, Fukuoka SUAA, Kumamoto SUAA and Niigata SUAA among others were held one after another here in Japan, and hosted by Dusseldorf SUAA, England SUAA and Munchen SUAA among those held overseas.
SUAA sends its special wine and a variety of items in support of such events. The secretariat is looking forward to information and reports from each SUAA branch.

【3】留学生会が新型コロナウイルス感染症で中国へ支援
Association of Chinese Students Support for the COVID-19 Outbreak in China

上智大学中国留学生会と留学生同窓会である華鷲会による「ソフィア武漢支援委員会」は、新型コロナウイルス感染症に対する中国への支援募金を開始しました。上智大学と一部のソフィア会も協力しています。
昨年12月以降、中国湖北省武漢市で新型コロナウイルスによる肺炎の発生が報告され、現在日ごとに罹患者が急増。中国全土で緊急事態となっていることに対応したものです。

The association of Chinese students at Sophia University and the Kajyu SUAA branch of international alumni has established the Sophia Wuhan Support Committee to provide financial support for the COVID-19 outbreak in China. Sophia University and some SUAA branches are also cooperating in this effort.
Cases of pneumonia caused by COVID-19 have been reported in Wuhan, in the Hubei province of China since last December, and the number of affected individuals has been increasing daily. This is in response to the crisis throughout the nation of China.
