【1】新型コロナによる困窮学生への緊急支援を決定
Decision to Provide Emergency Assistance to Students Left Destitute by COVID-19

ソフィア会は、新型コロナウイルスの感染が依然として不透明な状況にあることから、ソフィア会積立金から5,000万円を取り崩して支援(大学への寄付)をすることを6月の常任委員会で決定しました。5月に行った1,000万円の上智大学への寄付（アルバイト収入減額による生活支援金の一部に充当）とは別枠で実施します。
この追加的予算措置は、常任委員会の判断で推進できることが春季全国代議員会で承認されています。これを受け、緊急に大学と協議して常任委員会にて検討し決定したものです。ソフィア会は「会員相互の親睦」とともに「大学への貢献」を目的として掲げており、今回の措置はこれに基づくものといえます。

As the COVID-19 outbreak situation remains unclear, in June the SUAA Standing Committee decided that 50 million yen would be withdrawn from the SUAA reserve fund balance (to be donated to Sophia University).
This measure is independent from and in addition to the ten million yen (which covered a portion of the Livelihood Support for Students with Reduced Part-time Job Incomes) we decided to donate to Sophia University in May.
The Standing Committee authority to pursue this supplementary budgetary measure at its discretion was approved at the 2020 Spring Conference of National Representatives of SUAA. The Standing Committee thus promptly discussed this matter with the University and made the decision. We can say that this measure is based on the core SUAA aims of "building strong ties among members" and "contributing to the University".

【2】7月以降もソフィア会活動は制限されます
SUAA Activities to Also Remain Limited after July

新型コロナウイルス感染防止のため、ソフィア会は７月以降も引き続き活動を制限します。上智大学の入構制限が継続していることから、対面形式での講演会、会議などは少人数であっても開催できません。ソフィアンズクラブも当面閉館が続きます。
ソフィア会事務局も上智大学の業務と同様に在宅勤務を継続し、テレワークでの対応となります。問い合わせは引き続き、電話ではなくメール（）でお願いします。
また、各ソフィア会の活動についても、感染状況および国や地方の対応を参考にしながら、３密（密閉、密集、密接）を避け、十分な感染防止対策を講じた活動となるよう注意してください。具体的には、(1)発熱者の参加制限、(2)マスク着用の徹底、(3)消毒備品などの設置、(4)人と人との間隔の確保などに十分留意してください。

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, SUAA will continue to restrict its activities beyond July. Access to the Sophia University Campus remains restricted, thus even small group in-person lectures and meetings cannot be held.
The Sophians Club will also remain closed for the time being. The SUAA Secretariat as well as the Sophia University office staff will continue to work and telecommute from home. Please continue to contact us by email () rather than by phone.
In addition for their activities, SUAA groups and chapters should also pay attention to the COVID-19 situation and the national and local government COVID-19 responses, should avoid the "Three Cs" (Closed spaces, Crowded places, and Close-contact settings) and should take adequate infection prevention measures.
Specifically, please (1) restrict the participation of people with fever, (2) make sure that masks are worn, (3) provide disinfectants, etc., and (4) make sure that there is enough space between people.

【3】金祝を迎えられたみなさまへ。金祝燦燦会入会のお誘い
Gold Anniversary Celebrants Invited to Join the Kinshuku-Sansan-Kai

今年は、5月末のASFに合わせて開催される金祝、ルビー祝、銀祝、銅祝の式典は中止となりましたが、金祝を迎えた1970 年卒の方々は金祝燦燦会の入会資格を得たことになります。そのため、金祝燦燦会はより多くのみなさまの入会を呼び掛けています。
現在、金祝燦燦会の会員は約 400 名。海外からの留学生によるスピーチコンテスト、俳句コンテストなどを実施し、勉学奨学金の授与式には毎回、理事長、学長、学校の関係者、ソフィア会会長も出席されます。ぜひ入会し、学生支援にお力をお貸しください。

The 2020 Gold, Ruby, Silver and Bronze Anniversary Ceremonies, which were to be held in conjunction with ASF at the end of May, were cancelled. However, those who graduated in 1970 and are celebrating their 50-year Gold
Anniversary are now eligible to join the Kinshuku-Sansan-Kai. The Kinshuku-Sansan-Kai welcomes as many of you as possible join us.
At present, the Kinshuku-Sansan-Kai has about 400 members. We hold speech contests and haiku contests for international students, and provide scholarships to students from abroad. The Chancellor, the President, school officials and the SUAA President attend every ceremony. We sincerely invite you to join and help support our students.
