【1】「コロナ禍に考える：スポーツのチカラと難民アスリート」開催報告
Report on "Contemplating during the COVID-19 outbreak: The Power of Sports and Refugee Athletes"


2月23日、ソフィア会（オリンピック・パラリンピック支援特別委員会）は上智大学、UNHCR 駐日事務所、国連 UNHCR 協会と共催で、ウェビナーによる「コロナ禍に考える：スポーツのチカラと難民アスリート」を開催しました。
曄道佳明上智大学長の開会挨拶に続き、UNHCR 駐日事務所のディアナ・ビティティ氏が「スポーツと難民保護」をテーマに基調講演。続いてキャスターの長野智子氏（1985外英）をモデレーターに迎え、ビティティ氏、元オリンピック・マラソン選手の瀬古利彦氏、藤井里奈さん（外独4年在学）がパネルディスカッションを行いました。
瀬古氏はマラソン選手としての経験を通じて、藤井さんはドイツ留学中に難民キャンプでのボランティア経験を踏まえて、それぞれの難民とのかかわりをもとに、スポーツの持つチカラ、難民にとってのスポーツなどについて活発な議論を交わされました。

On February 23rd the Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) Olympics/Paralympics Ad Hoc Committee (Oly/Para Committee) in collaboration with Sophia University, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Japan, and Japan for UNHCR held a webinar entitled "Contemplating during the COVID-19 outbreak: The Power of Sports and Refugee Athletes".
Following the Opening Remarks Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi, Ms Deanna Bitetti, Head of Communications, Japan/Senior Project Lead, Tokyo 2020 at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency gave a keynote speech on the theme of "Sports and Refugee Protection". After that, Ms Tomoko Nagano (1985, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Department of English Studies) served as the moderator for a panel discussion with Ms Bitetti, former Olympic marathoner Mr. Toshihiko Seko, and 4th-year Sophia University student Ms Rina Fujii (Faculty of Foreign Studies, Department of German Studies).
The lively discussion on the power of sports, and sports for refugees, was based on experiences that Mr. Seko, as a marathon runner, and Ms Fujii, as a refugee camp volunteer while studying in Germany, had with refugees.

【2】第30回コムソフィア賞の受賞候補者を募集
30th Cumsophia Prize Nominations Sought

ソフィア会とマスコミ・ソフィア会は「コムソフィア賞」の受賞者を募集しています。コムソフィア賞は、ソフィア会とマスコミ・ソフィア会が共催する表彰制度（上智大学後援）。
選考基準は上智大学の関係者（学部、院の卒業生、教職員、在校生）で（１）国際社会、地域社会に貢献した優れた人物、（２）国際報道、日本紹介に優れた業績を挙げた人物、（３）マスコミおよび各種メディアに貢献した人物。この賞にふさわしい候補者を募集しています。

SUAA and Cumsophia are seeking nominations for the 30th Cumsophia Prize. The Cumsophia Prize is jointly sponsored by SUAA and Cumsophia with support from Sophia University.
To be nominated, candidates must be individuals with a Sophia University connection (undergraduate and graduate alumni, faculty, staff, and current students) and who: 1) have made outstanding contributions to the international or local community, 2) have made outstanding achievements presenting Japan in the international media, or 3) have made contributions to mass media or a specific media. We are seeking suitable nominees for this award.

【3】募金への御礼と継続支援のお願い
Donation Gratitude and Request for Continued Support

ソフィア会は会員の皆さまに、SOPHIA未来募金を通じた上智大学学生への支援、そしてソフィア会維持会費（運営協力費）納入にご協力をお願いしています。
これまで、SOPHIA未来募金では、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大に伴う緊急学生支援として計9,491万円の寄付をいただき、ソフィア会は計6,000万円の寄付を実施。また、「ソフィア会奨学金制度」の財政的基盤を支えるため1億円をSOPHIA未来募金（使途指定：ソフィア会奨学基金のため）に寄付、2020年10月16日には上智学院のサリ・アガスティン総務担当理事より鳥居正男ソフィア会会長に感謝状が贈られています。

SUAA is asking for continued member cooperation in supporting Sophia University students through the SOPHIA Fund for the Future and in paying the annual SUAA overhead fee (administrative fee).
To date, the SOPHIA Fund for the Future has made donations totaling 94.91 million yen, and SUAA has made donations totaling 60 million yen for emergency student support during the COVID-19 outbreak. Furthermore, SUAA donated 100 million yen to the SOPHIA Fund for the Future (earmarked for the SUAA Scholarship Fund). Sophia School Corporation Trustee for General Affairs Augustine Sali presented SUAA President Masao Torii with a letter of appreciation on October 16, 2020.
