【1】2022年秋季全国代議員会を開催
    2022 Autumn Conference of National Representatives of SUAA Held

ソフィア会は10月8日（土）午後2時より、学内6号館101教室で「2022年上智大学ソフィア会秋季代議員会」を行いました。
鳥居正男会長による開会の挨拶、来賓としてお越しの佐久間勤上智学院理事長、曄道佳明上智大学長の挨拶に続き、今回は3年に1度のソフィア会貢献者の表彰を行いました。この「ソフィアンズ顕彰表彰式」は今回が4回目で、今年は13名の方に賞状、記念の盾を贈りました。
その後議事に入り、(1)新規代議員承認の件、(2)上智大学へのウクライナ学生支援に関する寄付の件、(3)新規登録団体承認の件、の3つが審議され、いずれも承認されました。続いて、いくつかの報告があり、議事は予定通り午後4時すぎには終了、その後場所を2号館5階の学生食堂に移し、懇親会を行いました。

Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) held the 2022 Autumn Conference of National Representatives of SUAA on Saturday, October 8, at 14:00 in Room 101 in Building 6 on the Yotsuya Campus.
After the Conference opened with a greeting by SUAA President Masao Torii and guests of honor, Sophia School Corporation Chancellor Tsutomu Sakuma and Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi gave their addresses, the triennial Sophians Honorees Commendation Ceremony was held at this Conference. Thirteen recipients were awarded certificates and commemorative plaques during this 4th Sophians Honorees Commendation Ceremony.
Items on the agenda, (1) approval of new delegates, (2) donations to the University to support students from Ukraine, and (3) approval of new registered organizations, were each deliberated and approved. Several reports were given and the Conference proceedings ended as scheduled at a little past 16:00, and participants went to the Student Cafeteria on the 5th floor of Building 2 where a get-together was held.

【2】日本語スピーチコンテスト「第4回ザビエル杯」の参加者を募集
    Participants Sought for the 4th Xavier Cup Japanese Language Speech Contest for International Students

年末恒例の日本語スピーチコンテスト「第4回ザビエル杯」を12月3日（土）午後1時から行いますが、ただいま参加者を募集しています。他大学からの応募も大歓迎で、年齢、日本語レベルは不問です。
ソフィア会では、日本で学ぶ留学生が参加する「日本語スピーチコンテスト」を開催致していますが、このコンテストは大学の枠を越えた交流を目指し、上智大学に限らず、他の大学の留学生も広く募集するのが特徴。今年はハイブリッド形式（四谷キャンパスとオンライン中継）で行う予定です。

The annual year-end Japanese Language Speech Contest, the 4th Xavier Cup, will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, at 13:00 and we are now seeking participants. Entrants from other universities, of any age and level of Japanese, are also welcome.
This Japanese Speech Contest for international students studying in Japan held by SUAA, which aims to promote cross-university exchange, is unique because it is open not only to international students at Sophia University, but also to those studying abroad at Japanese universities. This year we plan to hold the event in a hybrid format, with participation both in person on the Yotsuya Campus as well as remotely online.

【3】「ソフィアン国家公務員と話そう」は10月26日開催です
    Talk With Sophian Government Officials on October 26

今年もソフィア会は10月26日に、「ソフィアン国家公務員と話そう－日本、世界で活躍する先輩たち－」を上智大学国際関係研究所と共催します。2016年以降毎年、藤崎一郎元駐米大使（元上智大学特別招聘教授）および上智大学出身の各府省幹部職員を招き開催し外交官・国家総合職等を目指す学生を支援してきました。
本企画は、「ソフィア会の将来ビジョン」における、「3．母校への貢献・現役学生支援の強化・拡充」－「国際社会で活躍する人材の就活支援」を実施するものです。

On Wednesday, October 26th, SUAA will again this year host an event entitled "Talk with Sophian Government Officials: Upper Classmen Active in Japan and Around the Globe" co-sponsored by the Sophia Institute of International Relations.
Held annually since 2016, former Japanese Ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki (former Sophia University Distinguished Professor) and Sophia alumni serving at various government ministries have been invited to support Sophia University students interested in becoming a diplomat or government official.
Implementing this event fulfills the objective of making contributions to our alma mater as well as strengthening and expanding support for current Sophia University students and supporting career development for dynamic personnel in international society, as outlined in number 3 of the SUAA Vision for the Future.
