【1】課外活動支援で59団体を選考

　　 Activity Funds

ソフィア会は7月20日（金）17:30から、学内2号館17階会議室において「2018年度
ソフィア会学生課外活動支援金贈呈式」を行いました。
これは、学生の課外活動の振興を図るための活動助成を行うことで、ソフィア会
の主要な目的である「大学への支援」を実現するものです。
当日は今回選考された文科系18団体、体育会系41団体の代表者に対し、戸川宏一
ソフィア会会長から合計800万円の支援金を贈呈しました。

Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) held the 2018 Academic Year
SUAA Extracurricular Student Activity Funds Presentation Ceremony at
17:30 on Friday, July 20th in the Conference Room on the 17th floor of
Building 2 on the Yotsuya Campus. Funding the promotion of
extracurricular student activities realizes SUAA's main objective of
supporting the University.
On that day, SUAA President Koichi Togawa presented a total of 8 million
yen to representatives of the 18 cultural groups and 41 sports groups
selected this year.

【2】「翔びたとう、女性達」－白石和子さん講演会を開催
　　 "Women, Let's Soar" - Former Ambassador to Lithuania Kazuko
　　 Shiraishi Lecture Held

ソフィア会は上智大学と共催で、6月28日（木）、学内2号館17階会議室において
元リトアニア大使白石和子さん（1974外露）の講演会を行いました。
ほぼ満席の会場で、外交官としての大使のキャリア、世界の途上国の女性が
置かれている環境、その打開策や未来への展望などをお話しいただきました。
講演会での質疑応答、またその後の懇親会でも活発な質問や交流が行なわれ、
時間が短く感じられるほどでした。

SUAA and Sophia University co-hosted a lecture by Former Ambassador to
Lithuania Kazuko Shiraishi (1974, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Department
of Russian Studies) on Thursday, June 28th in the Conference Room on the
17th floor of Building 2 on the Yotsuya Campus. Topics those in the
nearly full room learned about included the Ambassador's diplomatic
career, the working environment for women in developing countries around
the world, breakthrough solutions, and future prospects.
The lecture included a question and answer period and active questions
and discussions took place during the social gathering following the
lecture as well; the time seemed to pass by quickly.

　　 Sophia Business Club: Toast Your Alma Mater in Late Summer

ソフィア経済人倶楽部（SBC）は8月29日（水）18：00から、四谷キャンパス・
ソフィアンズクラブで会員交流会を行います。参加費は3,000円。
「ビジネスで困ったこと、気掛かりなことを会員に相談できるチャンス。
新しい出会いが新しいビジネスに結びつくかも」という気楽な会のようです。
ご参加ください。

The Sophia Business Club (SBC) will hold an exchange event for members
at 18:00 on Wednesday, August 29th in the Sophians Club on the Yotsuya
Campus. The participation fee is 3,000 yen.
The relaxed atmosphere at this event offers members "an opportunity to
consult with one another about business troubles or concerns. New
encounters may lead to new business." Please join us.
