[NOTICE & REQUEST] Take Maximum Precautions to Minimize Risk of Infection

新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大が続いています。これに対し、上智大学はさまざまな対策を打ち出し、3月24日（火）に予定していた学部学位授与式および大学院学位授与式・助産学専攻科修了式式典の中止も決定しました。ソフィア会も今回のコロナウイルスに対しては正副会長を中心として迅速な対策体制を構築。2月末には3月中に計画していた常任委員会および各専門委員会、さらにソフィア会主催の講演会の中止を打ち出しました。多人数の対面による会議に代わり、Web会議や電子メールなどによる情報伝達、意思決定を行うこととしています。登録団体においても、それぞれのイベントを中止・延期する動きが見られます。
これに合わせ、ソフィアンズクラブも3月末までは新規の予約の受付を中止、予約団体にはキャンセル料を請求しないなどの対策を講じました。サロンは平日10：00～21：00までオープンしますが、状況によっては急な閉室の可能性がありますのでご留意ください。
今回のコロナウイルスは、まさに世界規模での感染拡大が懸念されています。世界各地の地域ソフィア会をはじめ、学部学科同窓会、各種ソフィア会など310に上る登録団体に対しても感染拡大のリスク低減に最大限の対策を講じられるようお願いします。営利を目的とする企業などでは躊躇するような対策も、ソフィア会では可能です。
なお、4月以降のソフィア会行事等については、推移を見ながら適宜対応を決定、Webサイト、メールニュースなどを通じてお知らせします。
The COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread. In response, Sophia University is taking a variety of safeguarding steps. The Graduation Ceremony for Undergraduate Faculties and the Graduation Ceremony for Graduate Programs and the Department of Nursing scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 24th have been cancelled.
As well, Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) has established a COVID-19 rapid response system led by the president and vice president. The Standing Committee and Technical Committee meetings scheduled for March, as well as Sophia-sponsored lectures, were canceled at the end of February. In lieu of face-to-face meetings involving large numbers of people, web conferences and e-mail will be used for information sharing and decision making. Registered organizations have also noticeably been cancelling and postponing events.
In the same manner, no new Sophians Club reservations are being accepted through the end of March and no cancellation fee will be required from any group cancelling its reservation. Although the Salon remains open on weekdays between 10:00 and 21:00, please note that depending upon the situation, the facility is subject to sudden closure without prior notification.
This COVID-19 epidemic may well be turning into a global pandemic. We implore members of SUAA branches around the globe, undergraduate faculty and departmental alumni groups, various other SUAA alumni groups and the 310-plus registered organizations to take the greatest possible precautions to minimize their risk of infection. SUAA has the leeway to take defensive measures that for-profit businesses would hesitate to implement.
As the situation unfolds, the SUAA website and mail news will be used to keep you updated about SUAA events scheduled for April and beyond.
