On Friday, March 7, in Washington, D.C., a farewell gathering was held in honor of University President Yoshiaki Terumichi's final official visit to the United States as university president. The event took place at the prestigious Cosmos Club, graciously hosted by Mr. Kiyoshi Nakasaka, a graduate and member of the Sophia Alumni Washington, D.C. Chapter. A total of 12 attendees participated.
During the gathering, participants introduced themselves and shared recent updates over dinner. They engaged in an open exchange of views on the impact of the new administration in Washington, D.C., as well as the current state and future outlook of Sophia University. As a token of appreciation for President Terumichi, a gift was presented, and attendees expressed their hopes for a future reunion on the Sophia campus.
Additionally, under Mr. Nakasaka's guidance, participants toured the interior of the Cosmos Club, one of the most prestigious social clubs in the U.S. This rare opportunity allowed us to experience firsthand the rich history and culture of Washington, D.C.
The gathering brought together alumni from different generations and academic disciplines, reflecting the diversity of the Sophia Alumni community. It provided a valuable opportunity for graduates active in various fields to strengthen their connections.
Engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds proved highly stimulating and served as an excellent platform for expanding future networks.
