金祝燦燦会：第18回留学生俳句コンテスト（2026年春／夏編）の表彰式をZoomで開催しました

金祝燦燦会は、恒例の留学生による第18回俳句コンテスト2026春／夏編の表彰式をZoomによるオンラインで7月13日(月)に開催しました。
上智に学ぶ世界各国からの留学生が日本の伝統文化の一つである俳句 "Haiku" というものに親しみ且つ楽しんで貰おうと、金祝燦燦会が年に2回季節を変えて企画・実施をしている恒例のイベントになっています。 このコンテストは日本語での" 俳句 "のみならず英語 "Haiku" のどちらでも応募可能で、今回は5月より全留学生へ募集案内を開始しておりました。

式は金祝燦燦会白石会長(1974 外露)の主催者挨拶に続き来賓として毎回ご出席を戴いているサリ理事長及び林ソフィア会会長からそれぞれ心の籠もったご挨拶を戴きました。
今回も18の国と地域の留学生29名から全86句（英語俳句52句、日本語俳句34句）の応募があり、英語 "Haiku" 部門ではFLA(国際教養学部)A.ユー教授、同M.トンプソン教授及びソフィア俳句会のマーリィさん(1973 国際)に選考を戴き、2名の教授方からは各人への賞状授与直後にそれぞれの受賞句について温かで印象的なご講評を戴きました。
また日本語 "俳句" 部門はソフィア俳句会メンバーの方々に選考をお願いし、ソフィア俳句会代表の根来氏(1980 文国)からは全受賞句についていつもながらの的確なご講評を戴きました。
続いて金祝燦燦会の畔柳氏(1968 理物)による英語俳句受賞作品4句についての和訳句も披露されました。
最後に金祝燦燦会石川副会長(1965 外英)による留学生に対する友情のこもった挨拶にて終了いたしました。

Sophia Goldenagers' Club "Kinshuku Sansankai" held the awards ceremony for the annual 18th Haiku Contest for International Students, 2026 Spring/Summer Edition, online via Zoom on Monday, July 13th.
This is an annual event planned and held twice a year by the Sophia Goldenagers' Club, with the aim of helping international students from around the world studying at Sophia University become familiar with and enjoy haiku, a form of traditional Japanese culture. This contest is open to entries in both Japanese and English, and applications were open to all international students from May.

The ceremony began with an opening address by the Chair of Sophia Goldenagers' Club, Ms. Shiraishi (1974 Department of Russian Language), followed by heartfelt speeches from the Chancellor of Sophia School Corporation, Fr. Sali, who has always attended the ceremony as a guest, as well as the President of Sophia Alumni Association, Mr. Hayashi.
This time, a total of 86 haiku were submitted by 29 international students from 18 countries and regions. The English "Haiku" category was judged by Prof. A. Yiu and Prof. M. Thompson of the Faculty of Liberal Arts (FLA), as well as Marlie-san (1973 International Division) of the Sophian's Haiku Club. Immediately after presenting the award certificates to each participant, the two professors gave warm and impressive comments on each winning haiku.
In addition, for the Japanese "Haiku" category, we asked members of the Sophian's Haiku Club to select the winners, and as always, Ms. Negoro (1980 Department of Japanese Literature), the representative of the Sophian's Haiku Club, provided accurate comments on all the winning haiku.
Next, Mr. Kuroyanagi (1968 Department of Phisics) of the Sophia Goldenagers' Club presented his Japanese translations of four prize-winning English haiku .
The event concluded with a friendly speech to the international students by the Vice President of Sophia Goldenagers' Club, Mr. Ishikawa (1965 Department of English Language).
