金祝燦燦会：第17回留学生俳句コンテスト（2025年秋／冬編）の表彰式をZoomで開催しました

金祝燦燦会は、恒例の留学生による第17回俳句コンテスト2025秋／冬編の表彰式をZoomによるオンラインで1月16日(金)に開催しました。
上智に学ぶ世界各国からの留学生が日本の伝統文化の一つである俳句 "Haiku" というものに親しみ且つ楽しんで貰おうと、金祝燦燦会が年に2回季節を変えて企画・実施をしている恒例のイベントになっています。 このコンテストは日本語での" 俳句 "のみならず英語 "Haiku" のどちらでも応募可能で、今回は11月より全留学生へ募集案内を開始しておりました。

式は金祝燦燦会畔柳会長(1968理物)の主催者挨拶に続き来賓として毎回ご出席を戴いているサリ理事長始め杉村学長及び日比谷ソフィア会副会長からそれぞれ心の籠もったご挨拶を戴きました。
今回も15の国と地域の留学生17名から全48句の応募があり、英語 "Haiku" 部門ではFLA(国際教養学部)A.ユー教授、同M.トンプソン教授及びソフィア俳句会のマーリィさん(1973 国際)に選考を戴き、2名の教授方からは各人への賞状授与直後にそれぞれの受賞句について温かで印象的なご講評を戴きました。
また日本語 "俳句" 部門はソフィア俳句会メンバーの方々に選考をお願いし、ソフィア俳句会代表の根来氏(1980 文国)からは全受賞句についていつもながらの的確なご講評を戴きました。
続いて金祝燦燦会の谷地元氏(1969外露)による英語俳句受賞作品5句及び翻訳者特別賞1句の和訳句も披露されました。
最後に金祝燦燦会石川副会長(1965外英)による留学生に対する友情のこもった挨拶にて終了いたしました。
なお今回は偶々当日の朝からJR線の長時間不通事故があり、その為肝腎の留学生対象者に欠席が多少あったことが残念でした。
金祝燦燦会では今回初めてこの表彰式の記録（ビデオではなく式の進行に沿った静止録画・録音です）を作成いたしましたので以下ご参考下さい。

Sophia Goldenagers' Club "Kinshuku Sansankai" held the awards ceremony for the annual 17th Haiku Contest for International Students, 2025 Autumn/Winter Edition, online via Zoom on Friday, January 16th.
This is an annual event planned and held twice a year by the Sophia Goldenagers' Club, with the aim of helping international students from around the world studying at Sophia University become familiar with and enjoy haiku, a form of traditional Japanese culture. This contest is open to entries in both Japanese and English, and applications were open to all international students from November.

The ceremony began with an opening address by the Chairman of Sophia Goldenagers' Club, Mr. Kuroyanagi (1968 Department of Physics ), followed by heartfelt speeches from the Chancellor of Sophia School Corporation, Fr. Sali, who has always attended the ceremony as a guest, as well as the President of Sophia University, Prof.
Sugimura and the Vice President of Sophia Alumni Association, Ms. Hibiya.
This time, a total of 48 haiku were submitted by 17 international students from 15 countries and regions. The English "Haiku" category was judged by Prof. A. Yiu and Prof. M. Thompson of the Faculty of Liberal Arts (FLA), as well as Marlie-san (1973 International Division) of the Sophians Haiku Club. Immediately after presenting the award certificates to each participant, the two professors gave warm and impressive comments on each winning haiku.
In addition, for the Japanese "Haiku" category, we asked members of the Sophians Haiku Club to select the winners, and as always, Ms. Negoro (1980 Department of Japanese Literature), the representative of the Sophians Haiku Club, provided accurate comments on all the winning haiku.
Next, Ms. Yachimoto (1969 Department of Russian Language) of the Sophia Goldenagers' Club presented her Japanese translations of five prize-winning English haiku and one haiku that won the Translator's Special Award.
The event concluded with a friendly speech to the international students by the Vice President of Sophia Goldenagers' Club, Mr. Ishikawa (1965 Department of English Language).
Unfortunately, there was an accident that caused the JR line to be closed for an extended period of time from the morning of the day of the event, which resulted in some absences among the international students who were the main target of the event.
