Washington DC Sophians Happy Hour (Jan. 24th)

In the evening of Wednesday, January 24th, the Washington D.C. Sophians Happy Hour was held at Blackfinn D.C., an American restaurant. After a few days of continuous snowfall, the cold weather fortunately eased on the day of the event, and five Sophians gathered to spend a great time in a friendly atmosphere while enjoying good drinks and food. They were from a variety of backgrounds and lived in the area for a relatively long time, while I recently moved here due to my husband's work, and this was my first time attending a DC Sophians event. I learned various pieces of information through the conversation, like the lifestyle in D.C., food, and children's education. It seems that the COVID pandemic has changed the life in the U.S., such as the way people work and the price of goods, more than I had imagined. It was a pleasant surprise for me that I had an opportunity to meet someone who was from the same hometown as I, and who I had some connection with in such a faraway place from Japan like Washington. And I was happy to spend a good time with everyone who attended the event. Wherever in the world we are, Sophians can naturally get together and create a heartwarming atmosphere! I would like to participate in a DC Sophians event again if I have a chance.
