In-Person Happy Hour For the First Time Since the Pandemic Began

Sophians in the greater Washington, D.C. area gathered for a happy hour at a restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, on June 24th. It was the first in-person alumni event held since the pandemic started, and we enjoyed catching up with each other.
It was very nice to see familiar faces after a long time as well as a new Sophian who moved into the area. I was happy to learn that everyone was doing well; someone finished graduate school and found employment, and another changed jobs and advanced up the career ladder. It was very encouraging to find Sophians overcoming challenges and moving forward despite the pandemic.
Business and daily activities are coming back to a semi-normal state in this area, thanks to vaccinations which implemented at a faster rate than we had expected. I hope things will continue on the right track and Sophians can plan more joyful events.
