Student Exchange in the US
Written by Masahiro Nakatani(2nd year of Economics Department)

Last September, we stayed at the US with 6 members from Sophia University as a leader of student exchange club, Sophia Georgetown Student Connecting (SGC). This organization has visited the Georgetown University several times so far as a student exchange program, beginning in the year 2013, when 20 students visited the US celebrating Sophia's 100th anniversary. During our visit this time supported by the Sophia-kai (SUAA), we were able to interact with those who are currently active in the field; having discussion with the Georgetown students, and visiting the Sophia-kai's Washington DC Chapter and New York Chapter. Moreover, we had the opportunity to visit and communicate with people of the Embassy of Japan, NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in the D.C., and the World Bank Headquarters. We planned this activity on our own, including arrangements of air plane tickets, hotels and appointments of places to visit. These tasks were hard for us, but we carried this project out smoothly and made progresses. We were happy to have many chances to meet some specialists and excellent Georgetown students, so we have to continue this activity and promote the relationship between Sophia and Georgetown University.
