Ireland Sophian's Association Dinner Party Report and Season's Greetings
2019年12月19日
Place: Kopitiam Restaurant, Capel Street, Dublin
Date: 29th November 2019 (Friday)
As the festive season comes to Dublin, six members of the usual group held our Christmas dinner party at an intimate Malaysian/Indonesian restaurant in Dublin's inner city shopping and dining district. We were accompanied by five Sophian exchange students currently studying at Dublin City University to bring our total number of attendees to 11, one of our largest gatherings in recent years.
We were delighted to meet these new faces, giving our best wishes to some of the students who are returning to Japan at the end of this year, and reassuring those who are staying in Ireland for another few months that we look forward to meeting them again! We had a wonderful evening of delicious food and stimulating conversation, hearing all about the exchange students' lives here in Dublin and their travels around Europe.
In other news, Association member Professor Emeritus Sachiko Tanaka visited Fr. Donal Doyle, SJ during November at the SJ House on campus in Tokyo. At the same time in Dublin, our member Akiko Kidokoro accompanied by Momoe Sato, one of the exchange students from Sophia currently studying at DCU, participated in the J-Con Japanese cultural festival with a Yukata demonstration and a booth selling Makenai-zou elephant soft toys to benefit victims of natural disasters in Japan.

As always we are proud and happy to be a part of the international Sophian family, and would like to wish all Sophians around the world "Beannachtaí na Nollaig agus Athbhliain Shona dhaoibh go leir", Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all from Ireland!
