5月31日（日）に開催された「All Sophians' Festival」において、地球環境学研究科同窓会は講演会および懇親会を開催いたしました。
開会にあたり、高野新平会長よりご挨拶をいただき、続いて、林素子副会長の司会のもと、環境省・東北地方環境事務所に勤務されている塚原雄太氏（2009年修了）による講演が行われました。塚原氏からは、環境省で働くことになった経緯や、現在携わっている米沢牛の糞を活用した発電事業など、地域で進む脱炭素の取り組みについて大変興味深いお話を伺うことができました。
講演後には、研究科で教鞭を執られた鬼頭宏先生、平尾桂子先生、そして現在ご在職の織朱實先生より、同窓会の今後につながる温かいメッセージを頂戴しました。
後半の懇親会では、同窓会役員のトレンチャー・グレゴリー氏がモデレーターを務め、参加者全員が自己紹介を行いました。研究科時代の思い出や現在の仕事について語り合い、予定時間を超えるほどの盛り上がりとなりました。
最後は、卒業生の田邊学氏より締めの言葉をいただき、盛会のうちに閉会となりました。
今後も、同窓会活動を通じて、世界に広がる同窓生同士のつながりをさらに深めてまいります。在校生・卒業生の皆さまの次回イベントへのご参加を、心よりお待ちしております。

On May 31 (Sunday), during the "All Sophians' Festival," the Alumni Association of the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies held a lecture and social gathering.
The event opened with remarks from Mr. Shinpei Takano, President of the Alumni Association, followed by a lecture moderated by Vice President Motoko Hayashi. The speaker, Mr. Yuta Tsukahara (Class of 2009), currently serving at the Tohoku Regional Environmental Office of the Ministry of the Environment, shared how he came to work for the Ministry and introduced several regional decarbonization initiatives, including a power generation project utilizing manure from Yonezawa beef cattle. His talk offered valuable insights into ongoing environmental efforts at the local level.
After the lecture, former faculty members Professor Hiroshi Kito and Professor Keiko Hirao, as well as current faculty member Professor Akemi Ori, delivered warm messages that will inspire the future activities of the alumni association.
During the latter half of the event, the social gathering was moderated by Alumni Association officer Mr. Gregory Trencher. All participants introduced themselves and exchanged stories about their time in the program and their current professional endeavors, creating a lively atmosphere that extended beyond the scheduled time.
The event concluded with closing remarks from alumnus Manabu Tanabe, bringing the gathering to a successful close.
We will continue to strengthen the global network of our alumni community through future activities. We look forward to welcoming current students and alumni to our next event.
