23rd Jan 2022. Two Sophia University Exchange students in Wicklow mountains
2022年02月14日
It was difficult to gather in Ireland, due to the outbreak of the Omicron strain at the end of the year, but it gradually eased in January, and the Irish government lifted all restrictions from January 22 except for "wearing a mask". It is now possible to gather freely at home and outdoors. For the festive season and the New Year, we couldn't organise anything as Ireland Sophians'Association, but finally on January 23, the two students Ms Riko Kurasawa (3rd year , Faculty of Foreign Studies, Luso-Brazilian Studies) and Ms Hina Taniuchida (3rd year, Faculty of Humanities, English Literature) were able to come to Wicklow for a long-awaited mountain hike. After a nice 6.6km walk on the scenic 'Wicklow Way' near Tanaka's house, we have had a lunch with roast chicken and curry-pain. It was a very happy Sunday. It seems that the DCU students (who plan to go to Sophia) have already been selected. We really hope they can travel to Japan safely. It was really good for our two students to be able to come to Ireland amid the pandemic. I hope they enjoy their time in Ireland to the fullest and create many great memories here.
