【1】速報　第8回地域ソフィア会全国大会「2016宮城大会」開催

上智大学ソフィア会は9月24日、25日の両日、宮城県仙台市で第8回地域ソフィア
会全国大会（宮城大会）を開催。北海道から九州まで、そしてニューヨークなど
全国・全世界から180名を超えるソフィア会員とその家族、大学関係者などが
参加しました。
第1部の情報交換会では東北各地のソフィア会代表者が各地域ソフィア会の課題
などを提起。続く第2部の大会では理事長、学長のあいさつのあと、宮城県慶長
使節船ミュージアム館長の濱田直嗣氏が講演し、その後懇親会でも積極的な意見
交換が行われました。

The two-day 8th Annual Regional SUAA National Conference, the Miyagi
Conference, was held in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture on September 24th and
25th. The 180 Sophians, family members and university officials taking
part came from Hokkaido to Kyushu throughout Japan, and from locations
all around the globe including New York.
In Session 1: the Information Exchange, delegates representing each of
the SUAA chapters in the northernmost six prefectures of Honshu raised
questions on issues. Session 2: the Conference continued with greetings
from the Chancellor and Presidents and a lecture from Naotsugu Hamada,
Director of the Miyagi Sant Juan Bautista Museum. The subsequent social
gathering produced a positive exchange of opinions.

【2】ソフィア会秋季全国代議員会開催。顕彰者表彰式も－10/15
　　 The 2016 Autumn Conference of National Representatives of SUAA,
　　 Sophians Honorees Commendation Ceremony Held October 15th

ソフィア会は10月15日に2016年度秋季全国代議員会を開催します。
同大会では会則の一部改訂などを審議いただくほか、建設中の新ソフィアンズ
クラブの状況などを報告します。
また、ソフィア会に多大な貢献のあった方に対する顕彰者表彰式も行います。

SUAA will hold its 2016 Autumn Conference of National Representatives of
SUAA on Saturday, October 15th.
Partial revisions to the Sophia Alumni Association Regulations will be
open to discussion and reports will include the status of the new
Sophians Club currently under construction. A Commendation Ceremony will
also be held for those being awarded the highest SUAA honor.

【3】2016年度9月期卒業式（9/16）と入学式（9/21）が執り行われました
　　 September 2016 Graduation Ceremony (September 16th) and Entrance
　　 Ceremony (September 21st) Held

上智大学は9月16日、四谷キャンパス10号館講堂において2016年度の9月期卒業式
を行いました。国際教養学部や英語コースの学部・学科の卒業生約200名が学位
記を受け取りましたが、式はすべて英語で行われ、ソフィア会の上原治也会長も
英語でスピーチ。
また、9月21日にはやはり9月期入学式が10号館講堂で行われ、学部生、大学院生
を合わせ上智大学は新たに175人の新入生を迎えました。

The September 2016 Graduation Ceremony was held on Friday, September
16th in the Auditorium, Building 10 on the Yotsuya Campus. The
Graduation Ceremony, in which approximately 200 received their diplomas
from both Faculty and Departmental English Courses and the Faculty of
Foreign Studies, was conducted entirely in English, including the
speech given by Chairman Haruya Uehara.
Sophia University welcomed 175 new undergraduate and graduate students
in the September Entrance Ceremony held on Wednesday, September 21st,
also in the Auditorium, Building 10 on the Yotsuya Campus.

【4】上智大学体育会サッカー部がベルギー遠征10周年記念祝宴を開催
　　 Sophia University Soccer Club Belgium Expedition 10th Anniversary
　　 Banquet Held

サッカー部OB会は9月17日、ベルギー遠征から本年で10年目を迎えた記念祝宴を
スクワール麹町のレストラン・アピアンで開催しました。ベルギー遠征は、創部
75周年記念行事として団長の磯見辰典OB会長（当時）をはじめOB5名、現役学生
35名の総勢40名が参加して2006年7月に行われ、アントワープ大学、ルーヴエン
大学や地元社会人クラブチームと9試合を行い戦績は4勝5敗でした。祝宴では
磯見先生ご夫妻をお迎えし、遠征に参加した18名のOBが、当時の思い出話を語り
合いました。

On Saturday, September 17th the Soccer Club Alumni Association held a
banquet at Restaurant Apian in Square Kojimachi to celebrate the 10th
anniversary of the Belgium Expedition, a Sophia University Soccer Club
75th anniversary event. In July of 2006 Tatsunori Isomi, the Soccer Club
Alumni chairman at the time, headed a 40-member team made up of four
more alumni and 35 students. After having competed in nine matches
against teams from the University of Antwerp, the University of Leuven
and local adult recreational clubs, Sophia came away with four wins and
five losses. Professor Isomi and his wife attended the banquet where 18
alumni who were participants in the Belgium Expedition reminisced about
their experiences.
