【1】今年のASFも来場者は1万人超え
　　 Over 10,000 Attended ASF Again This Year

ソフィア会は5月27日(日)、「オールソフィアンの集い2018（ASF2018）」を
開催、今年も四谷キャンパスは1万人を超える人であふれました。
午前中のメインイベントは、6号館101教室でのソフィア会会員大会と金・
ルビー・銀・銅祝の式典。
戸川宏一ソフィア会会長のソフィア会会務報告に続き、大学主催行事としての
式典が行われ、各代表者に曄道佳明学長からラテン語の祝状が手渡されました。
午後は各祝典の懇親会や講演会、また学部学科同窓会、各登録団体などの会が
行われ、午後4時からはメインストリートのステージでグランドフィナーレ。
佐久間勤理事長，曄道学長、戸川ソフィア会会長がそろって「上智大学万歳！」
と叫ぶ中、最後は全員で校歌。
今年のASFも、久しぶりに母校を訪れたソフィアンの笑顔が輝きました。

Sophia University Alumni Association (SUAA) held "All-Sophians' Festival
2018 (ASF 2018)" on Sunday, May 27 and as in the past, the Yotsuya
Campus was packed with over 10,000 people.
The main morning events were the SUAA Sophia Alumni Meeting and the
Gold, Ruby, Silver and Bronze Anniversary Ceremony held in classroom 101
in Building 6 (Sophia Tower). After SUAA President Koichi Togawa gave
his SUAA report, the University-sponsored Anniversary Ceremony was held
and Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi personally presented
congratulations written in Latin to representatives from each
anniversary class.
In the afternoon social gatherings and lectures for classes celebrating
anniversaries, undergraduate and departmental alumni groups and
registered organizations were held, and the Grand Finale was held at
16:00 on the Main Stage. After Sophia School Corporation Chancellor
Tsutomu Sakuma, Sophia University President Yoshiaki Terumichi and SUAA
President Koichi Togawa cheered "Sophia University Banzai!" together,
ASF closed with everyone singing the Sophia University school song
together. Again this year, smiles on the faces of Sophians who returned
to visit their alma mater after being away for a long time graced this
year's ASF.

【2】顕彰候補者を募集します
　　 Call for Outstanding Service Candidate Nominations

ソフィア会は、上智大学創立100周年を機にソフィア会活動に顕著な貢献をされた
会員に感謝を顕すための顕彰制度を立ち上げ、2013年秋に15名、2016年秋には
14名の方々を顕彰しました。
これに続き、第3期被顕彰者選考委員会において、2019年秋をめどに新たな
被顕彰者選考作業を進めています。つきましては、みなさまから顕彰候補者を
募集します。
推薦状（A4用紙・形式自由）を2019年9月末までにソフィア会事務局（被顕彰者
選考委員会委員長）にお送りください。

At the time of the Sophia University Centennial, the SUAA began the
custom of showing appreciation to alumni making significant
contributions to Sophia Alumni Association activities. Fifteen
individuals received such recognition in the autumn of 2013 and 14 were
honored in the autumn of 2016.
Continuing in this custom, the 3rd Prospective Honoree Selection
Committee will proceed to select new outstanding members by the fall of
2019. We hope everyone will nominate candidates.
Please send letters of recommendation (on A4 paper with no prescribed
format) to the SUAA Secretariat (Prospective Honoree Selection Committee
Chairperson) by the end of September 2019.

【3】「本当に強い大学」で上智は7位に
　　 Sophia University Ranked 7th in "Truly Strong Universities"

東洋経済新報社が毎年発行している「本当に強い大学」の2018年度版総合
ランキングで、上智大学は7位にランクされました。大阪大学には0.4ポイント差
で及ばなかったものの、名古屋大学や九州大学、東京工業大学、一ツ橋大学など
の国立大学の上位置を確保しています。また、「仕事でも役立つOB会・同窓会の
力」のページでソフィア会にも取材、紹介記事を掲載しています。

Sophia University has earned 7th place in the 2017-18 overall ranking in
"Truly Strong Universities" (Hontoni Tsuyoi Daigaku), which is published
annually by Toyo Keizai Inc. Although Sophia University earned 0.4
points less than Osaka University, it placed above national universities
such as Nagoya University, Kyushu University, Tokyo Institute of
Technology and Hitotsubashi University. SUAA is also covered in an
introductory article in the "Useful at Work: The Power of Alumni and the
Alumni Association" section.
